The 2018 Fall Author Series highlights the talent and beauty of our region with a diverse selection of authors and works. Listen to author commentary, join the discussion, even get a chance to mingle during refreshments and book-signings. Join us as we welcome HEATHER SHUMAKER to our Library! Heather Shumaker is the author of “Saving Arcadia”, a Michigan Notable Book Award Winner for 2018 that’s been described as a page-turning “land conservation action thriller.” This book is set in the sand dunes of Northern Michigan. Heather also writes for parents (“It’s OK to Go Up the Slide”) and children (“The Griffins of Castle Cary”) with the latter of the two to be published March 2019. Heather is a graduate of Swarthmore College and The University of Wisconsin-Madison and loves sharing her joy of writing, nature, and children. She lives in Traverse City, Michigan. We will have a different author showcased in our Author's Series every Tuesday until November 6. The following authors will be at the Manistee Branch-- gracing us with their talent, time, and anecdotes-- on the following dates: October 23 - James H. Goodwin of "A Sin of Omission" October 30 - Michael J. Thorp of "Michigan’s Thumb Drive" November 6 - Sherry A. Burton of "Tears of Betrayal" This event is FREE and tickets are not required.
